One 20 pair and another one 10 pair overhead telephone cables of 150 metres each at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi areas along Kongba Road which provide 27 telephone connections in the area have been stolen on November 16 thereby affecting services of the subscribers.
Informing this in a statement, SDEP, Imphal South East O/O GMTD, BSNL, Imphal expressed concern over frequent cases of cable theft at Wangkhei area and adjoining areas of Imphal East.
The statement has also urged subscribers to bear with BSNL as restoration of affected telephone services immediately is not possible due to insecurity and shortage of store items.
