Imphal, April 13:
In the absence of any medical facility worth mentioning in Wairangba (Duiluan) and surrounding villages, the perpetual threat of malaria looms large in the area.
A statement issued by Wairangba-II Village Authority informed that three lives have already been claimed by malaria in the last month while another 45 persons were hospitalised at District Hospital, Tamenglong.
Even as malaria and other seasonal epidemics pose perpetual threat to the villagers claiming many precious lives every year, the authority concerned remained insensitive to the calamity, it lamented.
