Imphal, August 07: A combined team of Commandos of Bishnupur District Police and personnel of 15 JK Light Infantry arrested eight activists of PREPAK from Hotel Avenue, Imphal at around 4 pm today, according to sources from Bishnupur Commandos.

The sources identified the arrest activists as Sagolsem Noren Meitei (35) s/o S Tampha of Pukhao Ahallup, Wahengbam Ibomcha Singh (38) s/o W Achou Singh of Lamboikhul Keibi, Toijam Sonamani Singh (20) s/o late Kala Singh of Nongada Awang, Wangkheirakpam Tondon alias Siphai s/o late Muhindra Singh of Yumnam Patlou Awang Leikai, Nongthombam Premchand alias Itobi (21) s/o N Tomcha of Yumnam Patlou Makha Leikai, Khumbongmayum Pratap Singh (28) s/o Kh Tomba Singh of Nongada Thongkhong, Namdeibam Boyai alias Ipu (28) s/o N Khurai Singh of Patlou Mayai Leikai and Yaikhom Chinglemba alias Anil Singh (22) s/o Deben Singh of Phaknung Terapokpi.

Eight mobile hand sets and two demand letters of PREPAK have been recovered from the possession of the arrested activists, the sources added.
