Imphal, November 06: An awareness programme on protection against malaria by using medicated bed nets was organised by Network of Economy and Welfare Service (NEWS) Kumbi in collaboration with District Malaria Officer, Bishnupur at Ithai Wapokpi today, said a press hand out by NEWS.

At the end of the awareness programme, two medicated bed nets were distributed to each household of Ithai Wapokpi.

Moreover, NEWS had distributed 1300 such treated bed nets to the families and fish farmers settling around peripheries of lakes in Kumbi area and at Leitanpokpi, Salankonchil and Haotak Tampha Khunou till yesterday.

It informed that NEWS would distribute medicated bed nets at Wangoo, Sandangkhong and Sagolpat-Salankonchil.
