The prolonged cease work strike by the employees of Family Welfare Department has hit hard the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal with the stock of the vaccines required for various diagnosis running out fast.
According to a statement issued by media advisor of the premier medical institute, the Central Government has been sending such vaccines to the Family Welfare Department and the RIMS get the necessary quantum of the vaccines from the Department.
However, as a result of the prolonged cease work strike launched by the employees of the Department, the stock of polio, DPT and BCG vaccines are fast running out at RIMS.
The Well Baby Clinic, Urban and Rural Health Centres run by RIMS can no longer render any service and the situation is unlikely to improve during the cease work strike period, the statement said, while appealing to the patients and the parents of the children to bear with the inconveniences for the time being.
