Many continue to decry Langol outrage

Imphal, June 02: The Lan-gol outrage on May 29 in which one person was shot dead while two others were shot on the legs, besides a number of people being beaten, continues to draw strong condemnations from many organisations with sit-in-protests held at different places today.

Coming out strongly against the Langol incident, sit-in-protests were held at Pishum Ima Keithel, Sangakpham and Nambol bazar.

The protestors put up banners and festoons with the slogan, �We condemn killing of innocent people,� �Armed persons should not intimidate the public,� �We condemn killing over a land dispute,� etc.

The sit-in-protests were held from 10 am till 4 pm today.

The sit-in-protest at Pishum Ima Keithel was organised by Poirei Ita while the Nambol protest was organised by Nambol Area Meira Paibi Apunba Lup.

The protest at Sangakpham was organised by the local meira paibis.

Recalling that Sanasam Jugeshore was shot dead while two others were shot on May 29, a woman leader appealed to the armed organisations not to turn their guns on the civilians.
