Imphal, February 01: During his visit to the State, GOC-in-C Eastern Command Lt Gen KS Jamwal reviewed the internal security situation in Manipur ahead of the elections, informed a PIB (DW) press release.

The GOC-in-C was briefed by GOC Red Shield Division Maj Gen EJ Kochekkan on the environmental security and assistance being provided by security forces to the State.

Later Lt Gen KS Jamwal also visited the Hqs 35 AR at Tamenglong where he was given a detailed briefing on the election scenario in the district.

He was received there by village chiefs and important civil and police officials, added the release.
