Imphal, November 19: Imphal East district police apprehended two activists of the UNLF from different parts of the district yesterday.

According to a statement issued by the district SP L Kailun, the activists identified as Kshetrimayum Rupachandra Singh alias Delimu (24) s/o Ksh Ibujou Singh of Top Khongnangmakhong was arrested from Kongba crossing near Meitei Mayek High School at around 8 pm yesterday during a cordon and search operation conducted based on specific information.

On preliminary interrogation, the arrested activist disclosed that he joined the outfit in 1999 through one Nupamacha of Sandrok, the SP informed.

In the follow up action, the SP further informed, one more UNLF activist identified as Laikhuram Hemanta Singh alias Tomthinganba (29) s/o late L Kumar Singh of Top Mayai Leikai was arrested from his house at around 10 pm.

During interrogation, he has disclosed that he joined the outfit in 1995 under army no.
