Imphal, October 03: Dr Bhabananda Takkhellambam, a lecturer of CI College is among nine scholars from India selected for the Social Science Research Council (New York) South Asia Fellowship, 2005.Dr Bhabananda was selected for the fellowship for his paper titled, "Manipur : Recent Past and Contemporary Crisis".

Another scholar from the North East TT Haokip of North Eastern Hill University was also among the nine to be selected from India.

The fellowships were awarded after a rigorous selection process conducted by an international panel of experts.

The others include two from Nepal, three from Sri Lanka and four from Pakistan, said a statement issued by the SSRC.

Royal advisor: The order of appointing Amarik Singh Pahwa as one of the twenty advisors to the tituler king of Manipur has been kept in abeyance with immediate effect until further order, PS to the tituler King Th Ibohal Meitei announced in a statement.
