Imphal, Aug 25: Expressing serious concern over the confusion being caused among the beneficiaries of NREGS, Nungba Citizen's Council has questioned whether the scheme has been renamed as MREGS (Manipur Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Taking note of the violent incident at Nungnang village in Nungba sub-division of Tamenglong district on August 20 over the issue, the Council has demanded a clarification from the implementing agency concerned and appealed to all concerned to avoid such unfortunate incidents in future.
