MDCs urge for pension scheme

Imphal, August 18: The general body meeting of the Manipur Hill's Autonomous District Council MDCs/ex-MDCs Welfare Association held on August 9 has resolved to urge the State Government to sanction pension scheme for ex-MDCs/MDCs starting from the date of its inception, conveyed a release.

It also resolved to urge the State Government to repeal the District Councils Act 1971 and to conduct election to the Hills Autonomous District Councils.

Other resolutions of the meeting included appeal to the Government to construct requisite buildings and renovate old buildings for District Councils.

It also agreed to appeal to the Minister District Council Manipur to allot four rooms in the District Council Guest House, Sangakpham Imphal for office and quarter accommodation of the Association, it added.
