22 AR celebrates raising day

Imphal, May 15: The 22 Assam Rifles based at maram in Senapati district celebrated its 22nd raising day today with great pomp and show that included special Sainik sammelan, flag hoisting, barakhana, cultural programmes by local youths, pagal gymkhana and special lunch for invitees among other attractions.

According to a statement released by PRO IGAR (S), MLA RK Theko, UNC president Paul Leo, NPO chief Dailli, leaders of various student, women and Naga organisations attended the raising day celebration of the AR unit which had the unique distinction of being a part of Op Pawan in Sri Lanka in 1989.
