As part of the 64th Independence Day celebrations, 37 Assam Rifles conducted a medical-cum-dental camp at Chakpikarong in Chandel district.
A team of two medical officers including a dental specialist and paramedical staff attended the medical and dental problems of nearly 200 patients and provided medicines.
A sophisticated mobile dental unit which was built especially to provide dental care for the people in remote areas was inaugurated by 26 Sector Commander Brig SK Bhanot.
37 Assam Rifles also organised an inter-Sub division football tournament at Chakpikarong in Chandel district.
Nine teams took part in the tournament.
The final match of the tournament was kicked off by Brig SK Bhanot.
A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by 12 Assam Rifles in collaboration with Lions Club of Imphal at RIMS Hospital on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday.
12 AR Commandant attended the event as chief guest and gave an introductory speech highlighting the relevance of donating blood for social cause.
On voluntary basis, Commandant, Officers, two JCOs and 20 other ranks donated their blood alongwith civilians, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
