Imphal, March 07 2013: Personnel of 13 Bn BSF stationed at Moirangpurel CI Post have been accused of setting afire the Reserve Forest land of Risophung village in Senapati district on March 5 around 12 noon.

A statement issued by the Risophung VA today said that a number of trees, planted in area covering around 280 hectares by the Thoubal Forest division, in the reserve land and its vicinities were burned down by the fire.

Besides, 60 bundles of thatch bunched up by the villagers, 40 bundles of Langachei, 40 pieces of wooden pillars, bundles of firewood were burned down by the fire, the statement claimed.

The VA also drawn the attention of the concerned authority on the matter.
