The 6th Lam-Kut-Lam festival of Komrem community was celebrated along with a razzmatazz of cultural extravaganza at Upper Kom Keirap village in Churachandpur district today.
National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) president Y Nabachandra and Komrem Chiefs� Welfare Organisation president Lenkhohmang were chief guest and functional president of the day-long event jointly organised by Komrem Chiefs Welfare Organisation and Kom Cultural Dance and Research Centre, Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion, Nabachandra observed that preservation and promotion of cultural identity is the need of the hour and added that organising such festival is in the right direction.
Lenkhohmang said Kom community want to live in harmony with all others .
He also hoped that the festival would help in bringing the people emotionally together.
Cultural troupes from various Komrem villages like Khoirentak Khuman, Moirang Mantak, Hermonthang, Keirap Khullen Haotak, Khoirentak Khunou, Phuchongjang, Lower Kom Keirap, Senbangjan, Kangathei, Bounglusi, etc presented colourful cultural dances to make the event memorable.
