32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 9 Sector Assam Rifles organised a medical camp along with an AIDS awareness campaign at Khumbong in Imphal West district.
The camp was conducted at Brighter Academy, Khumbong, according to a PIB (Defence Wing) release.
Services of Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Ophthalmologist and Orthopedic surgeon were utilised in addition to general medicine officer.
Approximately 200 people were treated during the free medical camp besides distributed medicines to the patients.
An AIDS awareness campaign was also organised as part of the medicine camp with representatives from Manipur AIDS Control Society providing necessary information on the subject and distributing leaflets written in local language to the people.
Speaking at the occasion, Commander of 9 Sector Assam Rifles Brig VK Pillai said that the aim of such welfare programme is to interact with Sr local and also to show concern for better health of the people.
