Imphal, October 03: Lt Gen S Pattabhiraman was presented a Guard of Honour on taking over as the Vice Chief of Army Staff today.

Earlier he laid a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti.

Commissioed into the Corps of Engineers in December 1966, Lt Gen Srinisava Pattabhiraman, Ati Vishisht Seva Madal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal has had the distinction of commanding his regiment (of Victoria Cross Fame) as well as the Parachute Field Company.

He was awarded the Sena medal while in command of his Regiment in Arunachal Pradesh in 1990.
