Imphal, January 28 2010: Accused in a woman's suicide case, S Romanta and his second wife Anjali were produced in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court today after remaining in the police custody for five days.

They have been remand in judicial custody for 15 days.

According to police, the two culprits confessed that they had illtreated Sangeeta that led her to commit suicide.

Romanta also stated that he had forced his first wife to agree to divorce and harassed her in various forms.

Romanta and his second wife Anjali were arrested on January 23 by Lamphel police.

The infuriated locals of Awang Ghari Leikai, Imphal demolished the house of Romanta on January 23 .

People of Ghari Awang Leikai had held Romanta and Anjali responsible for Sangeeta's suicide.
