ACTSOM alleges stipend deduction

Imphal, October 27: Accusing principal-in-charge of Female Health Workers� Training School, Lamphel of deducting stipend provision of tribal students of the said institute, All Colleges Tribal Students Organisation has urged the Family Welfare Minister to take necessary action against the Principal.

Informing that the Family Welfare Department, Govt of Manipur had been allocating stipend amount of Rs 225 for each student every month in addition to the Tribal Welfare Department providing scholarship to such category of students, the student body contended that the mentioned Principal has been deducting the allocated stipend from the scholarship amount of Tribal Welfare Department on the ground that �a student cannot enjoy stipend as well as scholarship� at the same time.

It is nothing but deducting the amount for the family maintenance of the Principal, charged ACTSOM.
