Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has refuted the news report appeared in some section of the media on June 21 quoting NSCN (K) has served an ultimatum to him with regard to repayment of Rs 100 million which he had borrowed in 2000 for election expenses through his emissary Bijoy Koijam.
In a statement released through DIPR, Ibobi clarified that such allegation is totally baseless and unfounded.
The elections of Manipur were held in 2002 and Bijoy was not known to Ibobi in 2000, the statement said, adding that Bijoy Koijam did not belong to INC in 2000 and there was no question of using him as emissary.
The statement further clarified that neither hill based nor valley based underground outfits had/have any relation with Ibobi at any time whether in connection with elections or any other matter.
Ibobi also clarified that SPF Government under his leadership is making all sincere efforts for the development, progress and harmony for the people of both hill and valley.
