Imphal, May 22: All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup staged a Wakat Meepham in protest against the arrest of general secretary of UPF Ithai Zonal Council Laishram Premjit.

The protest demonstration was held from 11 am to 4 pm at Sagolband Moirang Leirak Keithel Macha.

Banners and placards with slogans demanding unconditional release of Premjit from the jail at the earliest possible were used during the protest session.

Premjit was reportedly arrested by Central security forces and latter lodged in the jail by the police.
