Imphal, May 19: Condemning encroachment on the ground of an LP School at Maibam Leikai, Apunba Lampak Kanba Lup, Maibam Leikai today organised a Wakat Meepham.

Around 50 local residents participated in the proest demonstration.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Young Men's Development Association, Liwa Maibam Leikai informed that joint meeting was convened yesterday to discuss and resolve the issue.

But VC of Manipur University Dr Ch Amuba who attended the meeting as one of the senior representatives of Chabungbam clan defied the collective decision of the elderly people , Zilla Parishad, Pradhan and Panchayat members thereby preventing from resolving the matter.

For this callous attitude of Prof Amuba, a joint meeting of the people of the locality held today has decided to socially boycott indefinitely, the statement announced.
