Moreh, May 17: Noted Manipuri film maker Padmashree Aribam Shyam Sharma, Director of documentary film AFSPA, 1958, the winner of Jury and Critic Award at the Mumbai International Film Festival, 2006 Haobam Pawan Kumar and its producer B Sunzu Sharma have been felicitated during reception function at MDU Hall here today.

The function was organised by Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC) Limited.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Art and Culture Minister Ph Parijat graced the reception function as chief guest and president respectively.

Speaking at the function, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh appreciated the role of the cinema in bringing about a social revolution.

He also assured that the his Government would be extending all possible assistance to the film makers in the endeavour of changing the society toward the right direction.

While conveying that the Ministry of Culture, Government of India has sought a project report for the development of Manipuri film industry, the Chief Minister appealed all the experts in the field of film making to come up with feed backs and important suggestions in preparation of such a project report.
