Imphal, January 16: In remembrance of the alleged mass rape committed on Hmar women in Lungthulien village of Parbung subdivisions in Churachandpur last year, Hmar Women Organisation today observed Day of Sorrow by staging sit-in-protest at New Bazar, Churachandpur.

Around 2000 women participated in the demonstration.

During the protest, no vehicles were seen plying on the roads in Churachandpur today.

All market places also remained closed during the demonstration.
