Imphal, March 09, 2010: 33 Assam Rifles of 27 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised a 'Run for peace' at Sendra, Moirang on March 7. According to a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles, the event witnessed a huge turnout of civilians including eminent personalities.

The run commenced from Police Station, Moirang and terminated at Sendra.

MLA Prithiviraj and Mangibabu Singh graced the occasion and also participated in the event wholeheartedly.

White pigeons were set free by the MLAs to mark the reign of peace in an where where in recent past people have started coming out openly afainst extortion, tax collection and atrocities of underground elements, the PRO said.
