Imphal, September 15: The 79th birth anniversary of Biplabi comrade Thokchom Bira was observed today at Hotel Excellency, Sega Road under the joint aegis of Irabot Celebration Committee, CPI Imphal City District and Keishamthong Local Council.

State Unit CPI secretary B Sharma, chairman of Control, Commission, CPI M Ibohal Singh and veteran Communist leader L Ibohal were presidium members of the function attended by Agriculture Minister Ph Parijat, Commerce and Industries Minister N Mangi, MLA Dr M Nara, MLA Th Tomba and Ex-Minister L Lalit as guests of honour.

Observance function commenced with offering of floral tributes to the departed leader.

CPI Imphal City District Committee secretary K Amuchou gave the welcome address and CPI Manipur State Committee secretariat member Langol Iboyaima presented a detailed account on the life and work of Biplabi Bira.
