Imphal, January 14:
Citing reduction in supply of power to the State due to drastic fall in level of water at the hydro-electric project site of Loktak, Ranganadi, Doyang, Kopili and Khandok Superintending Engineer of Transmission Circle State electricity Department said load shedding schedules would be further increased.
As the four power generating stations ceased generation from midnight till 4.30 pm owing to the low water level power supply to Manipur has been cut from the previous 62 megawatt to only 39 megawatt.
As the supply could not meet demands of consumer in the State steps to effect further load-shedding programme during the said period has been initiated and is most likely to remain unchanged till onset of rainy season, said the SE in a statement.
