Ukhrul, Jul 28:
Reacting to the reported clarification made by Publicity Secretary of KYKL through telephone in connection with the killing of Lairenlakpam Sunil on July 25, the JAC Against Killing of L Sunil said that a public meeting held today refused to accept the allegations levelled against Sunil.
The meeting further asked KYKL, if they were really behind the murder, to clarify through mass media instead of informing through telephone.
A statement issued by the JAC further questioned as to how Sunil who was never related to the outfit in any way at any point of time managed to misappropriate Rs 70,000 belonging to the outfit.
It also conveyed strong condemnation against pronouncing guilt posthumously and appealed to all armed groups to desist from such culture of pronouncing guilt after killing, said the JAC.
In protest of the killing of L Sunil, the JAC has called for 24 hour bandh along Imphal-Ukhrul road and Saikul road with effect from 6 pm today, informed the JAC.
However essential services like water supply, fire service, medical service and other religious activities would be excluded from the purview of the bandh, it added.
