15 hurt in mishap at Muongbung

Jiribam, October 18 2008: Atleast 15 people sustained injuries of varying degrees when the mini truck they were travelling turned turtle at Muongbung, about 6 kms from Jiribam police station this morning.

The injured victims included six women.

Out of the victims, four people who were in critical condition have been rushed to Silchar while the rest have been admitted at Jiri CHC.

The ill-fated truck loaded with food stuff and people together was heading Borobekra before the mishap took place.

The absconding driver is identified as Md Kuki (40) s/o Md Rahman Ali of Sonapur, Jiri.
