AMWJU decries assault of scribe

Imphal, Aug 16: Strongly condemning the assault of two journalists and their guide, a law student, by unidentified miscreants on August 12 at Zeliangrong area, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union has asked the people responsible for the assault to come out and tender due apologies.

In a statement, AMWJU said that the Assistant Editor of Down to Earth, Nitin Sethi, a reporter of the Dihcham newpaper, Apiam Gonmei, adaily published at Tamenglong and their guide, Nongthiu Pamei were assaulted by the miscreants even after they had identified themselves.

The three were on their way to cover a story on the Tipaimukh dam.
