Imphal, April 13: Foundation stones have been laid for installation of a 10.50 feet high statue of Chingu Khongnangthaba at the centenary hall of Manipur University by MP T Meinya today.

The foundation stone laying ceremony organised by Chingu Maichou Khongnangthaba Phambal Hangba Amasung Shaktam Khinba Thouranglup was graced by Dr T Meinya as chief guest, VC of MU Prof C Amuba as president and Registrar of MU RK Ranjan, ex-minister RV Mingthing, former VC Prof Ng Bijoy, ex-Education Director Dr TS Gangte and selection grade lecturer Prof Riyajudin Chowdury as guests of honour.
