Ukhrul, Jul 11: The people of Dongsum are in general and Tribal Destitute Children's School in particular have expressed their gratitude to GOC 57 Mt Div and Commanding Officer 53 Engineering Regiment, Leimakhong Army HQ for having constructed a class room under MCA project 2005-06 for the poor children of the area.

In a statement, secretary of the school Ngamjalien Singsit pointed out that though the school is suppose to be sponsored by the Union Ministry of tribal Affairs, the construction of the school building and other infrastructures are the responsibility of the school authority.

But shortage of fund crippled the school authority to construct a proper building.

So in such a situation, the Army was kind enough to construct a class room free of cost.
