Imphal, January 09:
While accusing the State and OIL authorities of inaction to address acute shortage of fuel in oil depots of the State, the Transporters and Drivers' Council regretted that passenger bus service would cease with immediate effect.
Explaining that vehicle operators had been facing severe hardships owing to fuel shortage, the Council further informed that for the last few days passenger carriers had to procure diesel at the rate of Rs 50 per litre which the vehicle owners/operators could no longer sustain till the situation improves.
The Council also sought cooperation of the public to impress upon the State Government inevitability of ensuring availability of petrol/diesel.
