Imphal, August 07: A Motor Vehicle Verification Counter has been opened at the office of SP/CID (Crime Branch) to provide services to the transport authorities in matters concerning registration of vehicles, police authorities in investigations, insurance companies in settling claims and member of the public in ascertaining whether any vehicle intended for purchase, etc is a stolen vehicle or involved in any crime, said a statement issued by Superintendent of Police/CID (SB) S Amirlal Sharma today.

Conveying to interested persons to avail services provided by the Counter, the statement further informed that a nominal fee of Rs 20 would be charged per query.
