Imphal, February 07: A young married woman died under suspicious manner in Salungpham Kang Yambem under Thoubal Police Station at around 6 pm yesterday.

Thoubal Police have registered case on the basis of the complaint filed by bereaved family members of the woman identified as Ningthoujam Ningol Thangjam Ongbi Chaobi (33).Her husband is identified as Thangjam Narendra of Salungpham Kang Yambem.

Though the family members of the husband contended that Chaoba died en route to RIMS Hospital where she was brought for treatment after consuming poison, the family embers of the deceased woman charged that she died as a result of having beaten up by her husband.

There were marks of having beaten up on her body, they claimed.

Thoubal police have taken up a case under relevant section of the Act and the post-mortem of the body has been conducted at Lilong PHC.
