Imphal, Aug 06: Joint Action Committee of Organisation of Retired Armed Police, Fire Service and Police Personnel, Manipur and United Retired Organisation, Manipur have announced to called a 24-hour general strike with effect from midnight of August 23 to midnight of August 24 in protest against the failure of the State Govt to fulfil its eight-point demands already submitted to the CM on June 30 setting June 31 as the deadline.

The demands of the JAC include pension pay revision of the State pensioner 01/01/ 1996 within July 31 and reducing the interest rate of private banks to 2 percent among others.
