Imphal, September 30:
A personnel of the 124 Battalion CRPF stationed at Tulihal Airport was killed while trying to intervene when two of his colleagues were quarrelling at around 9 pm yesterday.
The deceased CRPF jawan named as Nilappa kumbar (36) from Aralikati of Karnataka State suffered bullet wounds at the stomach area as he tried to pull away an AK-47 rifle held by one Ravinder Singh.
Nilappa succumbed to the injuries on the way to hospital.
Ravinder Singh was arrested and along with the weapon handed over to Singjamei police station under whose jurisdiction Tulihal Airport falls.
The victim�s body has been flown to his home State on completion of medical procedure.
In unrelated incident, an elderly woman died after being hit by a water tanker (truck) at around 10 am today in Sagolband Tera area.
The deceased has been identified as Ayekpam Bidhumukhi (70) of Sagolband Amudon Leikai.
