Imphal, April 29: A major disaster was averted when personnel of 10 AR posted at Sajik Tampak along with the local villagers helped in fighting inferno at Sajik Tampak on the intervening night of April 27 and 28.However five houses were completely gutted by the fire that lasted for nearly 2 hrs, informed a release issued by the PRO of Hqs IG AR (S).

It is speculated that the fire started from a shop peddling auto fuel, added the release.
