Imphal, Jul 28: As part of the nation-wide bank strike at the joint call of All India Bank Employees' Assn, All India Bank Officers' Assn and Bank Employees' Federation of India, banking operations in Manipur has came to a grinding halt today.

All the banking institutions including the State Bank and Co-operative banks were out of work due to the strike.

The strike was originally scheduled for August 1 but was preponed today to coincide with the Govt's proposed move for deleting of Section 12(2) of the Banking Regulations Act in the Parliament.
