Imphal, May 25: In conjunction with the 116th death anniversary of Pukharamba Kajao, rich floral and other tributes were paid at his tomb site of Kangmong Maisnam.

A statement issued by the Pukhramba Kajao Memorial Trust informed that MLA Dr S Budhichandra attended the observation as chief guest, while president of the Trust Sinam Heramani and member of Yarou Bamdiar Zilla Parishad S Nabakumar were the functional president and guest of honour respectively.

Many scholars speaking on the occasion recounted the indomitable spirit of Kajao and his love for sovereignty.

MLA Budhichandra noted that besides remembering the patriots, developmental works and progressive thoughts compatible with the society should be pursued with honesty and determination.

The main features of the observance were patriotic songs dedicated to Kajao, Bashak and presentation of Thang-Ta of which Kajao was also an exponent, mentioned the statement.
