Imphal, December 24: A combined force of Police Commandos of Imphal East and Bishnupur District Police apprehended one KLA activist during frisking and checking operation at New Checkon crossing at about 3.50 pm yesterday.

In a statement made available to the press today, SP of Imphal East District L Kailun identified the arrested KLA cadre as Chabungbam Rameshore (22) s/o Ch Kumar of Moirangkampu Block Lamkhai and said he was arrested based on specific information by the combined force.

The SP said one 9 mm pistol with one magazine loaded with two live rounds of 9 mm pistol were recovered from his possession.

On spot verification, Rameshore disclosed that he joined KLA in October 2007 through one Max Kuki.

The SP further informed based on specific information, a team of Imphal East Commandos arrested one PLA activist identified as Sukham Sushil Meetei alias Momba (26) s/o S Iboyaima Meetei of Bashikhong Turel Mapal from near Kiyamgei bridge during frisking and checking operation at around 9 pm on December 22. On spot verification, Sushil disclosed that he joined the outlawed organisation in March 2003 through one SS Sgt Major Dasum of PLA and his army no.is 2543 of Ist batch, 2003.
