Imphal, May 23: A 30 year old man was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen near Grace Academy on the way to Tarung under Lamphel police station at about 6.30 pm today.

The unidentified deceased was found wearing grey coloured pants, a shirt of sky blue colour and white hat.

Numerous bullet marks were observed on different parts of the body including the head.

Police have recovered four spent bullets of 9 mm and a live of round of M 20 from the spot.

Moreover, four invitation cards of Swasti Pujah scheduled for May 26 were also recovered from the possession of the deceased.

According to the invitation card, the father of the girl child for whom the Swasti Pujah will be performed is identified as one RK Inaocha, near Central School.

The corpse has been deposited at RIMS mortuary for necessary medical test, said sources.
