Imphal, May 22: Six organisations namely WESDEVS, Sangaithel; CRSD, Sagolband; WOCADES, Yaiskul; RWCDWA, Tabungkhok; SPY, Heinoupok; and WARD, Ngairangbam jointly observed the 23rd International Candlelight Memorial Day, 2006 under the theme of 'Lighting the path to a bright future' during a function held at WESDEVS training hall.

The function participated by around 35 persons was conducted by WESDEVS secretary Ksh Basanta Singh and CRSD executive secretary Ksh Rojesh Singh as chief guest and president respectively.

As part of the observance, candles were lighted from Khwairamband Bazar to Naoremthong in memory of all those who have died from AIDS, according to a delayed statement issued by Project Manager of RIAC project W Digendrajit Singh.
