Imphal, February 21: Taking serious note of reports that activists of some armed outfits are resorting to pressure tactics in the run-up to third phase polling in Tamenglong, Chandel and Churachandpur districts, the Kuki Liberation Army/Kuki Liberation Organisation (KLA/KLO) has called upon the electorates to exercise their franchise rights without any inhibition.

Denouncing intimidation to voters and abduction of candidates by cadres of armed groups prior to the third phase polling in certain pockets of the three hill districts, secretary of information and publicity of the KLA/KLO malsawm Vaiphei asserted in a statement that the organisation is prepared to �take any needful steps to help/assist anybody under threat�.

Castigating those armed outfit/s for bias indulgence in the election process, KLA/KLO appealed to all true revolutionary groups to let the people vote for candidate of their choice.

The people should understand that any armed group that openly get involve in the election process unfairly are not the real revolutionary group, added the KLA/KLO statement.
