Pending in MGNREGS work become hindrance: Sorojini

Imphal, December 15 2010: Pending in the work programme of MGNREGS in four Gram Panchayats of Bishnupur district has become a hindrance, said Ksh Sorojini, Adhyaksha, Bishnupur district in a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal.

Sorojini said that members of the four Gram Panchayats have withdrawn 80% of the total material cost and did not provide jobs to the job card holders in the second phase.

The four gram panchayats are Leimapokpam, Keinou, Thanga and Kwakta Gram Panchayats.

Due to this pending, an amount of Rs 2.5 crore for Bishnupur district the next phase could not be sanctioned.
