Imphal, November 14 2008: Disclosing that an NGO by the name, "Kaphung Reisang Long" has been functioning as an implementing agency of the Manipur AIDS Control Society (MACS) illegally with a bogus Societies Registration Certificate, the GPRN has banned the NGO from operating in Ukhrul.

According to a press release issued by GPRN Wung Tangkhul region, secretary Cpt retd Pamlei Varam, the NGO has been receiving funds without implementing any worthy programme.

On the directive of the outfit's Central Administrative Officer, the Kaphung Reisang Long has been banned with immediate effect, added the release.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Registrar of Societies, Imphal West district has clarified that there is no registered organisation under the name and style of "Kaphung Reisang Long (KAREILONG)" with registration no.445/IMP-Dist/1988 dated, 24th June, 1988 in Imphal West district.
