Imphal, March 01: Citing difference of opinion with the family members, the Joint Action Committee Against the Kidnapping of Ansar Ali of Yairipok Changamdabi has retracted from taking up the case of Ansar Ali who has been in the custody of KLA since February 19.With immediate effect from today, the JAC would not have any connection with the case nor take part in any agitation in this connection, co-convenor of the JAC and joint secretary of AMSU Hqs Md Iqbal Saha announced in a statement made available to the press today.

Ansar Ali s/o late Haji Md Majahar Ali was abducted by the armed cadres of Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) from his own house in the evening of February 19 last and has been in the custody of the outfit since then.

The outfit has charged Ansar Ali with raping two Kuki women and killing five persons some years back.
