Imphal, December 04 2009:
A Bangladeshi national from Chittagong has been apprehended by troops of 29 Assam Rifles at Tengnoupal check post at about 4.15 pm yesterday.
The Bangladeshi national identified as Amir Ahmed (25) s/o late Jamal Ahmed was travelling from Moreh to Imphal.
A press release issued by the Hqs of IG AR (S) said that Amir Ahmed had crossed over to Myanmar a number of times before and helped various militant groups.
The Bangladeshi national has been handed over to Tengnoupal police station along with Rs 5,870 in cash, one identity card and some other daily-use items recovered from his possession .
