Imphal, November 01: Extending solidarity to Sharmila in her fight against the continued imposition of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 25 individuals including Peace Women and the participants of the event, "Celebrating the work of Peace Women in Solidarity to Sharmila" have saluted the gutsy young woman who has been on a fast unto death agitation demanding the repeal of the said Act for the last six years.

In a signed statement, the Peace Women and other participants said that they support the stand of Sharmila and urged the Government to repeal the Act immediately.
