Imphal, January 03: Assam Rifles personnel arrested two underground activists belonging to the KCP and KYKL from different locations in the past 24 hours.

According to a PRO HQ IGAR (South) statement troops of 4 AR, based on specific information, apprehended a KCP cadre identified as Pvt Suranjay Singh (22) s/o P Rajan Singh of Laipham Khunou from Khonghampat yesterday.

Contending that Suranjay is involved in extortion and other subversive activities in Khonghampat area, the PRO informed of recovering large quantity of 'spasmoproxyvon medicine' and five CDs and added that the arrested youth has been handed over to Sekmai Police Station.

The KYKL cadre identified as one L/Cpl Brahmacharimayum Anor alias Nao (21) s/o B Elhari of Thongju Kanchipur was arrested from Kyamgei on January 3 midnight by a combined team of 1 AR and imphal West commandos.
